World Art Day is April 15

The International Association of Art / USA will celebrate at Gloria Delson Contemporary Art with the launch of a book, “World Art Day” by artist and outgoing President of the IAA world body, Bedri Baykam, whose large-scale multi-media works will be on display.  Legendary Los Angeles gallerist Jack Rutberg, the recipient of the IAA/USA’s first Lifetime Achievement Award, will discuss the rise and fall (and rise again) of the contemporary art scene in LA.  Larry Namer, the founder of E! Entertainment and one of the world’s leading champions of NFT, will discuss the impact of digital media on the visual arts.  Please join us!  We have a lot to celebrate this year!

The IAA / USA was welcomed into the world body of the International Association of Art / Association Internationale des Arts Plastiques at its World Assembly in Istanbul in March of this year.

IAA/USA plans to grow into a truly  representative national organization, expanding individual and institutional membership from every region of the country and eventually growing into a cultural force championing the visual arts as its founding members intended.  Among them, Georges Braque, Alexander Calder Robert Delauney, Hans Hartung, Roberto Mattta, Joan Miro, Henry Moore, and many others who participated at the first General Assembly of the IAA / AIAP in Venice in 1954.

The IAA was born in Beirut in 1948 at the Third General Conference of UNESCO with the mission of  identifying “what obstacles of a social, economic, or political order lay in the path of artists in the practice of their art.” The IAA became an independent organization in 1954 and declared a UNESCO partner.  Its membership is spread over five continents with tens of thousands of members.  The United States and India were officially recognized this year as the newest member states.
