Portrait of an Artist is a solo exhibition by artist Qathryn Brehm exploring the history of Downtown L.A. as a cultural center of Los Angeles.
This exhibition includes several portraits of artists who have laid the groundwork that enabled the transformation of Downtown into the international hub of arts and culture that we see today.
Works by Qathryn Brehm
Qathryn Brehm is a Los Angeles based artist working with handcrafted materials, digital images, and a variety of mediums including painted constructions, digital dioramas and assemblage, while incorporating a strong affinity for photography.
As the executive director of the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk, perhaps the largest monthly Art Walk event in the United States, Brehm believes that artists and the practice of the arts are strong building blocks of a healthy and productive community.
